Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced it has signed an agreement with the group IOI Properties to manage two new Malaysian hotels. Four Points by Sheraton Puchong and Le Meridien Putrajaya will thus join the group’s portfolio.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts, already present with 12 properties in Malaysia, will grow its portfolio further in the country. Thanks to a management contract signed with the group IOI Properties, it will operate two new hotels in 2015.

The first of these, Four Points by Sheraton Puchong, will have 249 rooms, including 12 suites, and 1,100 sq.m of meeting spaces. It will open in the fall of 2014 and will be the 5th property under the Four Points brand in Malaysia.

Le Méridien Putrajaya (scheduled to open in October 2015) will have 350 rooms, 1,630 sq.m of spaces dedicated to meetings, and a ballroom. It will be the brand's third Malaysian hotel after Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur and Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu.

"We are delighted to announce the signings of Four Points by Sheraton and Le Méridien in the Klang Valley, underscoring our expansion plans in Malaysia, one of the world's most dynamic destinations," declared Chuck Abbott, regional vice-president for South East Asia at Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

With these two new hotels, 599 rooms joined the Starwood Hotels group in Malaysia. Today the group has 265 properties in the Asia-Pacific region.
