The Singaporean group GHM establishes its presence in India

The operator General Hotel Management (GHM) further strengthens its hotel portfolio in Asia with the announcement of its first development in India. The Chedi Hotel Mumbai is scheduled to open on 2018.

In a partnership with the real estate company Rajesh LifeSpaces, The hotel group GHM is developing a property located north of Mumbay, in the Powai region. This 316-room hotel will have five restaurants, a seminar space and a spa.

GHM is specialized in the upscale segment, especially under The Chedi brand, which has addresses in Oman (158 rooms), Indonesia (20 rooms), Switzerland (106 rooms), and Vietnam (100 rooms). In addition, eleven proprieties are currently being developed (including three in Taiwan, two in the United Arab Emirates, one in Montenegro and one each in Maghreb, China, Japan, the Maldives and India. In the years to come it wishes to open other addresses in Japan and Taiwan. GHM recently announced its will to develop on the midscale segment via the creation of the Tin hotels brand, with the aim to develop 35 units by 2022.
