
The brand of Marriott International, Ritz-Carlton, announces a second resort development in China, on Hainan Island, scheduled to open in late 2017.
This new unit will be located on the South East of Hainan Island, nearby the city of Wanning and is scheduled to open on late 2017. It will offer 244 rooms and suites, and 14 private villas; but also two restaurants, a bar, a ballroom and the 1,600sqm of meeting and event venue space. The hotel will also include the debut of an 18-holes course designed by golf professional Jack William Nicklaus.
Ritz Carlton has a portfolio of 87 hotels worldwide including 12 in development and/or in operation in China. The brand currently has about 30 hotel projects in development in the world. The hotel industry's most significant operation in recent memory, the merger with Starwood Hotels & Resorts enables the operator to boast a 1 108 852 room portfolio with 5 640 hotels worldwide as of January 2016, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
