A 370-room high-tech hotel, from £109 a night, with a terrace bar overlooking the city and main attractions of London, just opened at Tower Bridge.
The group has opened its first property in Amsterdam in 2008. It is different from others and challenges the hotel industry by removing all the classic elements such as overpriced mini-bars, check-in counters and restaurants, offering instead large cozy public areas, mini-sized but high-tech rooms at affordable prices.
Each room is the size of the king-size bed that occupies one wall, facing a large TV screen, equipped with a mini iPad that controls the lights, sound, temperature and TV with free Wi-Fi and movies. A rain shower and toilets are located in two small pods.
A third London CitizenM will open in Shoreditch. The group also plans further openings in Paris and Los Angeles while Seattle locations are also being explored.
