Four new properties join the luxury brand's pipeline in Asia
The luxury hotel brand, Rosewood Hotels and Collection, is continuing its development, this time focusing on the Asian market. Thus, the American group, which operated (as of June 1, 2018) 22 hotels representing nearly 2,800 rooms, mainly in America and Europe, announced four new projects in Asia.
Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, said: “We intend to double the number of Rosewood hotels in the next five years, from our current 24 hotels in 15 countries, with a full one-third of new properties located in Asia. China remains a priority and our entry into Shanghai and Shenzhen represents an important expansion of our footprint in Tier 1 cities."
The properties announced are as follows:
- Rosewood Shenzhen, China will have 300 rooms and 50 residences. Scheduled to open in 2022
- Rosewood Hermana Mayor, Philippines will have 128 villas. Scheduled to open in 2023
- Rosewood Shanghai, China will have 220 rooms and 83 residences. Scheduled to open in 2024
- New World Jaipur Resort, India will have 181 villas
According to Hospitality ON's worldwide ranking of luxury brands, Rosewood was ranked (on June 1, 2018) as the 27th largest in terms of number of rooms. A not superfluous announcement that drives the competition of hotel groups in the increasingly popular luxury segment.
