Representatives of the Radisson hotel operator group met in early March 2022 with the Greek Minister of Tourism, Vassilis Kikilias, to discuss their potential development in the country.
At a meeting at the Ministry of Tourism in Athens, Joep Peters, Senior Vice President of Radisson Group Franchises and Elie Milky, Vice President of Group Development, shared their vision and ambition for the expansion of their hotel operator base. They are particularly interested in Athens, Thessaloniki and the country's island destinations.
This expansion will begin in the coming months with the opening of the Anda Hotel Athens in the Kolonaki area. This property will mark the debut of the Radisson Individuals brand in Greece.
On 18 April 2022, the Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort will open on the famous island of Santorini. This is a wise choice of location given the popularity of the island as a tourist destination.
These two addresses will complete the Greek portfolio of Radisson Hotel Group, which already has two Radisson Blu properties, one in Athens and the other in Crete.
The group also announced at the end of January that it had developed a partnership with HotelBrain Group. This collaboration will result in two new hotels. The Radisson Resort Plaza Skiathos, on the island of Skiathos, which is due to open later this year. And the Radisson Blu Euphoria Resort in Mykonos, which will open in time for the 2022 high season.
The further strengthening of the presence of international brands in our country is a vote of confidence for the offered Greek tourism product and adds to Greece’s promotion as a destination to audiences that prefer the flexibility of direct bookings.
