
Carlson Rezidor announced the development of the Radisson Blu Hotel Tipaza, its second property in the country that is scheduled to open in 2017.
Located on the northeast coast of the country, the hotel will be a new build, 168 room and suite construction. It will also have two restaurants, two cafeterias, two swimming pools, a wellness center and 1,000 square meters of space dedicated to organizing meetings and conventions.
"Algeria is the largest country in Africa and one of the richest nations on the continent. It has seen considerable infrastructure and tourism investments over the past years, and we want to support Algeria's economic and social developments as a strong international hospitality partner," declared Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and CEO Rezidor.
The new property will bring the number of hotels in Africa that are operational or under development belonging to the Carlson Rezidor group to 66, for some 14,400 rooms. As of January 1, 2015, Carlson Rezidor was the thirteenth hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 172,234 units in 1092 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis.
