
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group reinforces its presence in Africa and announces the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Center opening in Kigali, Rwanda.
Carlson Rezidor's Area Vice President Marc Descrozaille said: “This project is in line with our long-term strategy to establish Radisson Blu as the premier upper upscale brand in Africa with a strong network across selected economic hubs and capital cities across the continent”.
For the area including Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the operator has 498 hotels in operation and/or in development in its portfolio, including 309 under the Radisson Blu brand. Carlson Rezidor operates and develops 64 hotels in 27 countries of the African continent, that is to say a portfolio of 14 300 rooms. Chinese group HNA recently acquired the operator: the newly-formed group ranked as the 11th hotel operator worldwide in terms of rooms as of January 2016. According to data published by Hospitality ON, HNA Group and Carlson Rezidor operate 1,145 hotels totalling 182,521 rooms.
