Digital hotel operator and technology developer Numa Group aims to play a leading role in the revival of the hotel real estate markets and is deploying its activities in several European markets.
Overall, Numa reports a strong first half of 2022 in all seven of its major European markets. The company achieved an 86% booking occupancy rate across its 20 European locations. RevPAR is said to have increased by 85% compared to the same period last year.
In April, Numa launched a €500 million pan-European portfolio strategy for city hotels with LaSalle Investment Management. This strategic partnership is part of LaSalle's growing Value-Add Investments business and is aimed at the acquisition, renovation and operation of city hotels, serviced residences and long-term flats, boutique hotels and conversion projects.
In the first half of the year, the company was able to conclude contracts for the operation of numerous hotels in major German cities. In Hamburg, a property previously operated by the Accor Group as the Novotel will become the largest property in Numa's portfolio to date with 185 rooms. In Frankfurt am Main, the company plans to operate 137 flats. In Munich, Numa will operate buildings with 55 units and another with 40 units.
Together with the existing properties, this brings Numa's total to more than 200 units in the best locations in the Bavarian capital. With the opening of the "Numa Sketch", another building was launched this year in Berlin, with more to follow in the autumn.
As for its expansion throughout the rest of Europe, the group has entered the Spanish market in 2021, and has also expanded its hotel operator presence in Italy with openings in prime locations in Rome, among others. Numa is also entering the Portuguese market with a property in Lisbon. The group will open a hotel in the former headquarters of the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol in the second quarter of 2024, with 77 units. In Austria, 56 Numa units will be built in collaboration with C&P Immobilien.
The company has also taken its first step into Scandinavia through a strategic partnership with Carucel in Norway. In the centre of Oslo, Numa becomes the new operator of a hotel in a historic building. The former main post office, which is a listed building, is expected to open as a fully digitalized hotel in the second quarter of 2023.
As a leading provider of technology-based alternative accommodation, our clear goal is to establish a whole new generation of hotels and short-term accommodation with our brand and thereby transform the sector. Thanks to the innovative Numa concept of digitalized Future Hotels and our technology, we have been able to be profitable in all cities despite the extremely demanding market circumstances.
