The Ibis Bridgwater is expected to open in Somerset County by the end of 2020. It will have 144 rooms and will boost the hotel supply in a region of growing economic interest.
The property will be spread over five floors and will include a Keepers restaurant, a bar, a car park (capacity of 81 cars) and meeting rooms. It will be aimed at both leisure customers and business tourists.
Business tourism has a bright future in the region thanks to a strong regional economic boom, particularly with the new Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, which is expected to employ more than 25,000 people by 2023, less than half an hour from the hotel.
The Ibis Bridgwater will be operated by Cycas Hospitality, which already operates a portfolio of 12 hotel brands in five countries. The management agreement signed with Zeal Hotels and Sandgate Investors will see the operation of the first ibis hotel for the company, and the second for an Accor Group brand hotel, the first being a greet hotel that will open in Germany in fall.

The Accor group has 1,518 hotels operated under the ibis brand in Europe as of January 1, 2019, according to Hospitality ON data. This represents a total volume of 145,455 rooms, making it the leading brand on the European continent according to Hospitality ON's 2019 ranking.
