The Theatre has been sold to a consortium of investors, whose plan is to develop a "compact", limited-service hotel.

Located in the center of the Irish capital, the Andrews Lane Theatre has been bought for 4.4 million euros by a consortium of private investors led by Adrian Shanagher's Firebreak Hospitality. According to the Irish Times, the new owners intend to seek planning permission to turn the site into a 115-room hotel offering compact rooms similar to those of Yotel and CitizenM. The project is said to represent an investment of 10 million euros.

According to the Irish daily newspaper, the hotel is likely to be completed in 2018, once permission has been granted by the authorities and restoration completed. Centrally located between Trinity and Exchequer Streets, the new development will be a significant addition to Dublin's hotel supply.
