Equipped with quality infrastructures, Naples is connected to Rome by train in 1h15 and its harbour is the departure point for many ferries. Naples Capodichino airport (7th national airport) handled more than 9 million passengers in 2017, up by 25.8% (after +9.9% the previous year).

The city's economic activity is mainly based on tourism and the mechanical, energy, automotive, textile and agro-food industries. The gap with the large cities of the North in terms of economic activity and unemployment, historically very high, has narrowed considerably over the last ten years...
