Luc Chatel, former Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, responsible for Consumer Affairs and Tourism in the French government from 2007 to 2009, was selected to chair the jury of the 2017 Worldwide Hospitality Awards. The event will be held on November 8th when the best hospitality-related initiatives will be rewarded.
This year, Luc Chatel, former Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, responsible for Consumer Affairs and Tourism (2007-2009) has been chosen to chair the jury responsible for evaluating and assessing applicants' projects. He had already shared the experience of his governmental functions and his expertise within the tourism business in 2013, during the first edition of TourInvest Forum.
Luc Chatel hence takes the role played by Hugues Parant, director of the central tourism administration from 1995 to 1998, who chaired last year's Hospitality Award sjury.
A graduate of Université Panthéon-Sorbonne, Luc Chatel received a management and marketing education before working at L'Oréal, where he would take the lead of HR for one of its entities. He took his first steps into politics in 2002, when he was appointed MP at the National Assembly. Five years later, he became Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, responsible for Consumer Affairs and Tourism under Nicolas Sarkozy. He then took office as Minister for Education, a position he held until the new presidency in 2012.
His management and marketing education, coupled with his various governmental and professional experiences make Luc Chatel a key personality to present the awards for best hospitality initiatives in 2017. Next stage is on November 8 at the InterContinental Paris Le Grand to discover the laureates whom Luc Chatel and his jury will have chosen!
