Mr. Andrea Scherz has been appointed Chairman of its Executive Committee since January 1, 2022 by The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. (LHW).
Andrea Scherz grew up in the hotel business at the Gstaad Palace and studied at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. Before returning to Gstaad, he worked for various hotels in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy and the United States, including the Beau-Rivage, the Savoy and an InterContinental property. He took over as General Manager in 2001. In addition to his role at LHW, he sits on the board of Swiss Deluxe Hotels and the Gstaad-Saanenland airport association.
Today, Mr. Scherz will be the sixth president in LHW company history. He follows in the footsteps of his father, Ernst Andrea Scherz, who also served as president of LHW. In his role, Mr. Scherz will head LHW's Executive Committee, made up of seven hoteliers who represent LHW's more than 60 shareholder members.
