
Thanks to the credit it was recently given by the Chinese bank ICBS, Louvre Hotels Group hopes to develop a portfolio of 500 Campanile hotels in China over the next five years. The group also has projects in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The hotel group thus announced the launch of its economy brand Campanile on the Chinese market, where there is strong growth potential. It hopes to grow the network to 500 hotels over the next five years, the first is scheduled for end 2015 in Shanghai. Other projects it has in China involve the brand Golden Tulip, such as the current JJ Hotel in Shanghai.
Louvre Hotels Group is also turning to Thailand to develop in Asia where it currently has a portfolio of five Golden Tulip and Royal Tulip hotels. It plans to open 30 Tulip Inn properties there in the primary cities in country, as well as in secondary destinations. Projects are currently underway for 4 and 5 star hotels in Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya. The group has also drawn attention with potential acquisitions in the country.
Indonesia is also at the heart of this growth strategy. While it has eight operational hotels in the archipelago, the group has programed the opening of 10 other properties under the brands Royal Tulip, Golden Tulip and Kyriad in the next six months and 10 more addresses in 2016. The Louvre Hotels Group network in the country should thus reach 28 hotels by the end of the year 2016.
To strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia, the group has also begun development projects in Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Louvre Hotels Group was bought at the beginning of the year by Jin Jiang International, the tenth hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 241,908 units at 2,208 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis. (Read our report)
