With this new address in the heart of a 18th century building, InterContinental Hotels Group marks the 18th opening of the Indigo brand in the United Kingdom.

Located at 2-8 South Parade, a stone's throw from Parade Gardens and the Avon River, the new 166-room Indigo brand hotel has just moved to a city famous for its literature, romance, historic architecture and ancient Roman baths.

Between the 18th and 19th centuries, the hotel building was also frequented by Sir Walter Scott, William Wilberforce and the Duke of York. Thus, the hotel mixes modern design and historical architecture, and offers its guests 5 types of rooms: "Romance & Mischief", "Literary Hideaway", Georgian Architecture", "Garden" and "Underground Vault".

All rooms, available from £177, are equipped with comfortable Hypnos beds, spa-inspired bathrooms, coffee machines, high-speed Wi-Fi and 102 cm flat-screen TVs.

There will also be a catering offer through the restaurant "The Elder" and its chef Mike Robinson, co-owner of London's only Michelin-starred pub, the Harwood Arms in Fulham. He also opened The Woodsman restaurant and bar at the Indigo Stratford Upon-Avon Hotel last year and won the "Good Food Guide Best New Entry 2020". Based on authentic British cuisine with an emphasis on sustainability, seasonality and local produce, The Elder restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner with an à la carte menu. A south-facing bar and terrace will allow guests to discover local specialties, accompanied by cocktails and Somerset County ciders. 

As of June 30, 2020, there were 121 Indigo hotels worldwide, including the recent Hotel Indigo Verona - Grand Hotel Des Arts and Hotel Indigo Larnaca. Another 102 Indigo hotels are expected in the next 3 to 5 years.
