First presented in the United States, the avid Hotels brand is launched as a second middle range offer for IHG.
The avid Hotels brand has been added to Holiday Inn Express to support IHG's dynamic on this particular sector. It could be characterized mainly by its slightly lower rates approx. $10 less than Holiday Inn Express for a single room), and they will have "the basics done extremely well," according to the group's press release.
The brand's logo gives a taste of what's to come: hotels will have specific architectures, and rooms will be equipped with modern facilities such as sound-reducing technology and connected objects. Hotels will have to be constructed in an eco-friendly way. Their prototype comprises 95 to 100 rooms on three floors.
As of January 1, 2017, IHG ranks 3rd hotel and residences group worldwide, with 5,174 properties totaling 767,135 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
