
The cities of Wuppertal, Trier, Hanover and Frankfurt should thus have new Holiday Inn Express addresses by the end of 2018.
The Holiday Inn Express Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof should open its doors first in 2017. The project, in partnership with GS Star, will be a new-build, 163-room construction. Developed in partnership with Tristar, the Holiday Inn Express Trier should then open in 2018, with 158 rooms. IHG also signed a contract with Foremost Hospitality for two new hotels: the 127-room Holiday Inn Express Hannover City Hauptbahnhof, and the 162-room Holiday Inn Express Frankfurt City Hauptbahnhof. Both properties are planned for 2017.
The brand Holiday Inn Express currently has a network of 26 hotels in Germany, and 15 additional properties in its pipeline. As of January 1, 2015, the InterContinental Hotel Group was the leading hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 710,295 units in 4,840 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis.
