
The hotel group announced the signature of the InterContinental Bordeaux Le Grand Hotel, the brand's sixth property in France.
The hotel will have 130 rooms in the current Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa, whose building, located Place de la Comédie in the historic center of the city, dates back to 1776. Its restaurant offering was entrusted to the group Gordon Ramsay and will include the gastronomic restaurant Le Pressoir d'Argent. Seven meeting rooms, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, and a hammam will complete the property's infrastructures.
This new address will bring the number of hotels in the French portfolio of the British group InterContinental Hotels & Resorts to six along with the InterContinental Paris Le Grand, the InterContinental Marseille Hotel Dieu, the InterContinental Paris Avenue Marceau, the InterContinental Carlton Cannes and the InterContinental Lyon Hôtel Dieu.
As of January 1, 2015, InterContinental Hotels Group was the leading hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 710,295 units in 4,840 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis. (read our article)
