IHG® and Sands China have announced the arrival of The Venetian Macao and The Parisian Macao in the InterContinental Alliance Resorts partnership. The Londoner Hotel Macao will follow suit when it opens in 2020.
After opening its 400th hotel in Zhuhai, a Chinese border town of Macao in the south of China, the British group announced it will expand its InterContinental Alliance Resorts partnership to three hotels in Macao. Two properties, The Venetian Macao and The Parisian Macao, had already joined the Alliance since last June 25. The third hotel, The Londoner Hotel, will follow suit when it opens its doors next year. IHG enjoys an extensive offer with 5,000 rooms at the Asian destination with its special administrative status.
This expansion has happened nearly ten years after the first resort, The Venetian Resort, joined the Alliance in 2010. By 2027, five properties will have joined the strategic partnership between IHG and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. These five luxury hotels, representing a total of 13,000 rooms, will participate in the IHG Rewards Club loyalty program. Each of their guests will thus be able to collect loyalty points that they will then be able to reuse at the 5,622 properties of the IHG group.
George Markantonis, president and head of operations at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, commends this win-win effort made by both hoteliers: “IHG has been a valuable partner for us here in Las Vegas and we are thrilled to carry the relationship through to 2027. We are proud to provide IHG Rewards Club members direct access to the Las Vegas Strip and all the beautiful offerings within our resort and the award-winning Sands Expo.” Meanwhile, Jolyon Bulley, Chief Executive Officer, Greater China at IHG, finished explaining the interest of this partnership that makes it possible “to offer our IHG Rewards Club members from around the world more than 5,000 luxury hotel rooms and suites in Macao, an exciting global destination.”
IHG, fourth hotel group worldwide, has 17 brands and a 5,622 hotels supply (837,915 rooms) in 2019, in a hundred or so countries with a single loyalty program, IHG Rewards Club.
