The British group intends to seize opportunities in the most populated country in the world by partnering with SAMHI. The opening of the first Holiday Inn Express facility in Gurgaon is yet another symbol of IHG's expansion in India.
On September 15, 2018, Holiday Inn Express Gurgaon Sector 50, the brand's first hotel in the city, will open. It will offer 205 rooms and is located 30 minutes from Indira Gandhi International Airport.
This inauguration is part of a partnership with SAMHI Lodging Real Estate Firm to develop a portfolio of 14 Holiday Inn Express Hotels. The Indian company is well positioned to expand the British offer as it currently operates 29 hotels (4,303 rooms) with 8 different brands.
Ashish Jakhanwala, MD & CEO, SAMHI, added: “We are very excited to inaugurate Holiday Inn Express Gurgaon Sector 50, the first of the 14 hotels Holiday Inn Express portfolio, under the SAMHI & IHG partnership. The conversion and the rebranding exercise of our existing portfolio to the Holiday Inn Express brand is one of the largest in the hospitality industry. We strongly believe that a combination of strong locations, a vibrant product and the power of the brand Holiday Inn Express, will lead the way for the midscale hotel space in India.”
