
The hotel group signed an agreement with the hotel’s owner, Allresto Flughafen München Hotel und Gaststätten GmbH, to take over management under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.
A vast renovation program will be launched within the property with an aim to add 160 rooms to the 389 existing ones (including 43 suites) by 2017. At the end of these works, the hotel will be called Hilton Munich Airport.
"Munich is one of the busiest European airports, with some 40 million passengers each year. We are happy to include Hilton Munich Airport in our portfolio of more than 50 airport hotels worldwide," declared Rob Palleschi, global head Hilton Hotels & Resorts. Hilton Worldwide has already brought more than 20 properties to European airports. In addition to the Hilton Munich Aiport, Hilton Amsterdam Schiphol, in the Netherlands will also open in 2015.
The Hilton Munich Airport will bring the number of hotels in Germany in the portfolio of the hotel group to 17.
