Tru by Hilton Oklahoma City Airport

The very first property under the Tru by Hilton brand opened at Oklahoma City Airport. This is the 5,000th hotel of the group, which has more than 400 other Tru by Hilton properties under development.

Hilton has just opened its very first Tru by Hilton property near the Oklahoma City Airport, in the eponymous state in the center of the United States. The opening of the 86-room hotel was a great opportunity to detail the offer of this mid-range brand: a lobby of more than 260 square meters, a fitness center, a breakfast bar and an "Eat & Sip" snack and beverage outlet will be the trademark of the Tru by Hilton properties, of which 425 are currently under development.

This hotel, owned by Champ Patel of Champion Hotels, is the 5,000th Hilton property worldwide, and the launch of the Tru by Hilton offer suggests that the group will not stop there. "We are pleased to celebrate our first Tru by Hilton—a brand we launched with the goal of reinventing the midscale segment,” said Christopher Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton.

"With Tru by Hilton, these travelers don't have to choose between a great experience and price in the midscale segment-they now can get the best of both worlds," said Alexandra Jaritz, global head Tru by Hilton. The emergence of this brand in the Hilton portfolio marks a new step in the growth of the group which, on January 1, 2016, ranked second largest operator worldwide with 4,565 properties and 751,350 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
