Growth in global hotel supply accelerates

In 2014, about 600,000 rooms and apartments joined the global supply of hotels and residences. The growth rate of the supply thus gained speed with respect to last year thanks to the economic recovery under way in several developed markets. Of the some 21.75 million units available worldwide on January 1, 2015, the share of emerging destinations continued to grapple with tenths of points.
