Ferrari partnered with PortAventura to develop a new Ferrari Land in Spain near Barcelona.
The leisure complex dedicated to the automobile brand represents an investment of more than 100 million euros. It will be built on a surface of 75,000 square meters and will include a 250-room five-star hotel, restaurants, stores and Ferrari-specific installations, such as a space with a car race simulator and several other attractions, including the biggest and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe. The start signal has been given and Ferrari Land is expected to open in 2016.
"After a successful experience with Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, we received several requests to open a new theme park. After a rigorous selection process, we chose the one that allows us to promote Ferrari in Spain where we have many enthusiasts, and is installed on the site of PortAventura which attracts a high volume of tourists. We will continue to study development opportunities for theme parks outside Europe, but without rushing," declared Andrea Perrone, managing director of the brand Ferrari.
