Hilton is celebrating the opening of Emerald House Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the debut of the Curio Collection by Hilton in the Portuguese capital.
Located just minutes from the center of the Portuguese capital, the new hotel is the first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Lisbon.
The 67-room property is nestled among historic palaces and churches, with rooms offering views of the Tagus River and the city itself, perched on the seven hills that make up Lisbon.
The hotel takes its name from the street on which it is located, Rua das Janelas Verdes, which translates to "street of the green windows." Set in a restored building in a prime location, steeped in history and favored by 18th century nobility, the accents of the property's cultural heritage can be found throughout the interiors. The first floor, which was once a bakery, serves a variety of breads and pastries. Several items that belonged to the building's former residents, such as an antique bathtub, tiles, and a sink, have been preserved and used as unique decorative pieces in the hotel. Local art and antiques support a modern and elegant decor, creating a distinctive atmosphere perfect for those looking to experience authentic Lisbon.
Guests can enjoy contemporary Portuguese food and drinks at the hotel's restaurant, and a fitness center.
Simon Vincent, Hilton's executive vice president and president of EMEA, said.
Hilton continues to expand in key destinations across the region, with nearly 30 openings in Europe last year, including the Hilton Porto Gaia and new Curio Collection properties in premier locations such as Paris, London, Cambridge and Sardinia. We are thrilled to bring the Curio Collection by Hilton brand to Lisbon for the first time - one of Europe's most historic cities, which has become an increasingly popular leisure destination in recent years. Following the opening of the Boeira Garden Hotel Porto Gaia in Porto last year, The Emerald House Lisbon is the second Curio Collection property in Portugal and our sixth property in Portugal. With six more properties in the pipeline, we remain committed to providing exceptional accommodations in the world's best destinations.
