The Trump Hotel Collection will open the doors to Trump International Hotel, Washington, DC, its 10th luxury property in United States on September 12 in the capital's former Post Office.
In 2013, the GSA, with Congress's approval, signed a 60-year rental contract with the Trump Organization that may be renewed every 20 years for up to 140 years. The real estate group of the presidential candidate presented a project to transform the capital's former central post office into a luxury hotel with 263 rooms and suites, with the largest reception hall and ball room in Washington, DC.
Works to transform the property cost more than 170 M€. "It has been an incredible journey transforming the Old Post Office into what will be the finest luxury hotel in the country-if not the world," rejoices Ivanka Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, alongside her two brothers Donald Jr and Eric. "We have worked tirelessly to meticulously restore one of the United States' most high profile landmarks and are incredibly proud to unveil the results of our efforts this September."
Donald Trump, who will attend the inauguration, has done everything to ensure the property would be open in time for the inauguration of the next president of the United States, particularly in case he would win the election. "This is my fifth hotel opening and I can say with conviction that I have never seen so much interest and so many early bookings as I have at Trump D.C.; we already have a significant number of events confirmed for 2016 and beyond with many more inquiries being considered," announces Mickael Damelincourt, general manager of Trump International Hotel, Washington, DC.
The Trump Hotel Collection has 14 luxury properties either operating or in the pipeline, with several openings scheduled in the months to come in Rio de Janeiro, Vancouver, Bali the island of Java in Indonesia.
