Firmdale Hotels opens a second property in the Big Apple. This property is located in Upper-+Midtown Manhattan and joins the upscale network Design Hotels.
Located near Central Park and 5th Avenue, The Whitby Hotel is a property owned by the group Firmdale Hotels, which currently has another address in New York: the Crosby Street Hotel (86 rooms). The Whitby Hotel also offers 86 rooms and suites, a restaurant, three meeting rooms and a theater able to accommodate up to 130 attendees. It also offers a fitness room and a terrace with a panoramic view.
This new hotel was part of the Design Hotels network created in 1993 that moved into the fold of the American giant Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2015. This voluntary upscale chain includes close to 290 independent hotels in around 60 destinations. The group Firmdale Hotels, meanwhile, has a portfolio of ten properties and nine restaurants and bars that are mostly located in Great Britain, in London, and in the United States, in New York City.
