The hotel group announced the opening of its first property in Crete, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2016.
Carlson Rezidor announced it will open its first property in Crete. The hotel group signed an agreement with the Geniatakis family for the development of the Radisson Blu Beach Resort Crete Milatos. This property will result from a conversion of the 318 room property owned by the family that will be renovated before reopening its doors under the Radisson Blu brand in the year 2016.
Carlson Rezidor will thus strengthen its presence in Greece, where it already has operations in the capital with the Radisson Blu Hotel Athens. In 2013, tourist arrivals in the country grew to 12.7 million airline arrivals, or 10.8% more than during the previous year. Crete is the Greek destination that benefited the most from this tourism recovery, according to figures published by Marketing Greece, the new organism representing Greece's tourism industry.
