The hotel group announced its first property in the country: the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Ljubjana, scheduled to open end of 2015.
Carlson Rezidor is entering the hotel market in Slovenia. The hotel group plans to open its first property in the country by the end of 2015. It will be the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Ljubljana, the result of a conversion of an existing property in the capital. Located three kilometers from the city center, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Ljubljana will have 236 rooms, a restaurant, two bars, as well as meeting rooms.
"We are delighted to arrive in a new country and to further expand our strong network in capital cities of Central and Eastern Europe. The Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel will be the first internationally branded upper upscale hotel in Ljubljana and add new value to the local hospitality sector," declared Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and CEO at Rezidor.
Slovenia is thus the 79th country to join Carlson Rezidor's portfolio. As of January 1, 2015, Carlson Rezidor was the thirteenth hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 172,234 units in 1,092 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis.
