Carlson Rezidor has announced the opening of the Radisson Blu Misrata for the beginning of next year in coastal areas of Libya. It will have 126 rooms and 24 studios and will be operated through a management contract .

Carlson Rezidor is making its way back to Libya through its international brand Radisson Blu. In August 2014, the American group suspended its activities in Tripoli due to a very tense and unstable political situation. For its return at the beginning of 2016, Carlson Rezidor targeted a less exposed destination, the town of Misrata, east of the capital on the Mediterranean.

The pre-existing hotel is undergoing renovation to meet the standards of the Radisson Blu brand. It is located in the business quarter of the city center, not far from the commercial port and international airport (6 km). It will have 126 rooms, 24 studios with kitchenette, a restaurant serving Libyan specialties, an outdoor swimming pool, a bar, four meeting rooms, a film projection room, a spa and a gym. It will be managed by The Rezidor Hotel Group through a management contract.

On January 1, 2015, Carlson Rezidor was the thirteenth hotel group in the global ranking in terms of number of rooms with 172,234 units in 1092 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis. (read our article)
