The hotel group will expand its current ibis hotel and open two new properties in the zone: ibis Budget and Novotel.
"This operation allows us to invest in the economy and midscale segments in hotels meeting high environmental quality standards (HQE). They are located in a key area that is generating excellent operating performances and promising to become one of Grand Paris's flagship urban projects," declared John Ozinga, COO HotelInvest Accor.
The three new properties will make it possible to increase accommodations capacity at Paris-Orly airport by 43%, adding 360 new rooms to the current supply of 840 rooms. Their development is part of the real estate program Coeur d'Orly, an eco-friendly business district between the airport terminals. It also includes the development of offices and shops already launched though co-investment between Aéroports de Paris, Altarea-Cogedim and Foncière des Régions. In the first stage, on a 13.5 hectare parcel, 160,000 square meters of buildings are to be constructed including 70,000 square meters of offices, 41,000 meters of shops and services, as well as a 35,000 square meter hotel division.
"Paris-Orly airport has become a very important business hub in the heart of southern Paris. the significant modernization work currently underway will change the appearance of the airport, making it more welcoming, especially through the construction of a junction building between the south and west terminal. At the same time, construction work has started on the first office building in Coeur d'Orly. Besides teh fact that we are giving added value to our vast land reserves, we are also significantly increasing Paris-Orly's accommodation capacity, thereby meeting the growing demand from passengers," declared François Cangardel, real estate director Aéroport de Paris.
