Accor completes the transformation of the Molitor swimming pool

Under construction since the end of 2011, the Molitor swimming pool will reopen its doors next May 19, and will include an MGallery hotel.

Begun by the investment fund Colony Capital in association with Accor and Bouygues in 2011 (read out article), renovation works for the Molitor swimming pool are at last coming to an end. The reopening of the property that is famous for its Art Deco architecture is thus planned for next May 19.

On an area of close to 13,000 square meters, the space will also house a five-star hotel under the brand MGallery. The property will have 124 rooms, all of which look onto the swimming pool, as well as a restaurant, a bar and 1,700 square meter relaxation area including a Clarins spa. The decoration of the property classified Historic Building has been entrusted to the interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel who is experienced in decorating hotels. In keeping with its past, Molitor will also remain a meeting place for artists for special events.

The swimming pool's owner, Paris City Hall, transferred the lease to the investment fund Colony Capital in 2008 for 54 ans. Inaugurated in 1929, the building closed its doors in 1989 en now has a new lease on life while strengthening the presence of the brand MGallery in Paris alongside the Baltimore.
