The Frankfurt-based Steigenberger Hotel Group will soon be entering the Turkish market in the shape of the Steigenberger Hotel Istanbul Airport.
The hotel will offer 210 rooms and suites, conferencing facilities with a ballroom and several meeting rooms, and a 1200 m2 proportioned gym and spa facility with swimming pool, beauty and massage treatment rooms, hamam and Finnish sauna. As befitting its status as a five star property, the hotel will also offer two restaurants and a lounge.
"Our company is undergoing rapid growth," said Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG. "The main focuses of our expansion are Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Our latest hotel project in Istanbul will enable us to establish a link between two continents and symbolises our consistent growth."
On January 1, 2014, Steigenberger was the 48th largest hotel group worldwide according to the ranking produced each year by MKG Hospitality, the hospitality consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis. At that time it had a network of 84 hotels and 15,760 rooms worldwide. (read our report)
