Starwood Hotel Hotels & Resorts announced the development of two properties operated under the Luxury Collection and Tribute Portfolio brands in Singapore. They will both open in 2017.
The Duxton Club consists of two entities located near the business district of Tanjong Pagar: Duxton House and Duxton Terrace. Duxton House will occupy eight houses dating from the 19th century that are opening on three floors that were previously occupied by merchants. In the end, this hotel will offer 50 rooms, a restaurant and a bar. Duxton Terrace is located 200 meters from Duxton House, and will be located in 14 adjacent houses on three to four floors that were built in 1929. The architect in charge of the renovation work is Jacques Garcia. The hotel will offer 138 rooms, a restaurant and a bar. It will also have a fitness center ans swimming pool. The Duxton Club is slated to open in 2017. These two units will join the members of the Luxury Collection hotels, whose portfolio includes over a hundred properties, 25 of which are in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Vagabond Hotel, operated under the brand Tribute Portfolio, the new label for independent hotels that is distributed by Starwood Hotels, is a boutique hotel with an artistic theme. The property will offer 41 rooms and a seminar area. Tribute Portfolio made its debut in April 2015 with its first hotel, the Royal Palm South Beach Miami.
