A Sofitel on the Champs Elysées?

AccorHotels wants to open a hotel operated under the Sofitel brand on the most beautiful avenue of the world; this project should be ready by 2021.

Alongside the Claridge, Fouquet’s Barrière and the Marriott, AccorHotels would like to develop a fourth hotel for the Champs Elysées at 144-150, according to Le Figaro. In an effort to develop a new “mythical address” in Paris (after the Raffles-Royal Monceau on the Avenue Hoche), in 2021 the group should open a SO Sofitel, a five-star hotel with about a hundred rooms, and a swimming pool offering a panoramic view over the capital.

However, the realization of this ambitious project depends on the approval of the building permit filed by Groupama, the owner of the building’s walls. As of January 1, 2016, AccorHotels ranked 6th in the global ranking of hotel groups, with 3,995 properties, for a total of 554,508 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
