A second German hotel joins the Autograph Collection

Marriott International's Autograph Collection goes to Dresden with a 97-room, five star hotel. It is its second property in Germany after one in Berlin.

Located at the heart of the Baroque city of Dresden and dating from 1768, the Gewandhaus Dresden reopened its doors last April 2nd further to extensive refurbishment. The project was led by architects from STUDIO (in Düsseldorf). The building was thus transformed into a boutique hotel, positioned on the fiver-star segment. It is the second German property to join Marriott International's Autograph collection, of which it is a member July 2.

The hotel has 97 rooms, an atrium, an indoor swimming pool with sauna, steam bath and a fitness center. To satisfy its guests dining needs, the hotel has The (M)eatery Bar & Restaurant and a boutique selling pastries Kuchen Atelier. With a current portfolio of 88 properties worldwide, the Autograph Collection has a portfolio of 88 properties worldwide, its vice president Julius Robinson announced the desire to grow to more than 100 properties by the end of the year. As of January 1, 2015, Marriott International was the third hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 701,899 units in 4,117 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis.
