Rotana Hotels & Resorts strengthens its portfolio in Jordan

The Emirati hotel group announced the opening of its second hotel in Amman, the Jordanian capital. The property is located in a 188-meter high tower, as an integral part of the Abdali mixed-use development project.

The UAE-based hotel group unveiled a new property operated under the Rotana brand. The hotel is located in Amman's new downtown, close to the Al-Abdali Mall, Jordan's largest commercial complex. It is an integral part of the Abdali project, which also features residences and shopping options. Amman Rotana is located in a 188-meter high tower (50 floors) and offers 412 rooms, six restaurants, a ballroom, nine meeting spaces, a fitness center and a swimming pool.

As of January 2016, Rotana Hotels & Resorts ranked as the 73th largest hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 52 properties totaling 13,866 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON. The operator aims to reach a portfolio of 100 hotels by 2020. Hotels are currently in the pipeline in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Khobar, Jeddah, Riyadh, Doha, Erbil, Rabat, Mashhad, Tehran, and Khartoum, and in other destinations in Bahrain, Libya and Tanzania. The group portfolio includes the following brands: Rotana Hotels & Resorts, Centro Hotels by Rotana, Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts by Rotana, Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana and The Residences.
