Radisson RED: exponential growth

The Carlson Rezidor brand has multiplied announcements in recent months, the latest being the opening in 2020 of a new hotel in Riga

Since its creation, this brand has met with a very important growth. Radisson RED has announced the opening in 2020 of a new property in Latvia's capital Riga, in collaboration with Astor Group. The 220-room hotel will be located near the Latvian city center. 

According to Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer of The Rezidor Hotel Group, "our "lifestyle select" brand will complement our presence as leader and our dominant position in the Baltic states.. 

Let's look back at the exponential development of the brand, which progressively seems to stretch towards new horizons :  

  • April 19th, 2016: world's first Radisson RED opens in Brussels
  • February 14th, 2017: Radisson RED comes to central Europe
  • September 7th, 2017: Radisson RED s'implante au Brésil
  • September 12th, 2017: Radisson RED débarque en Afrique du Sud

The success of this new Carlson Rezidor brand is a source of questions. The main assets and strong points of Radisson RED, for example the fact it addresses a specific audience, its very "arty" inspiration and the care with which it picks its products and hotels' design, surely have to do with this success.

As of January 1, 2017, HNA and Carlson Rezidor rank 11th hotel and residences group in the world, with 1,181 properties totaling 188,013 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
