Particularly targeting young travelers, the latest among the brands by Marriott International has just inaugurated its first two properties in the United States: in Tempe and New Orleans.
The recent inauguration of 186-room hotel Moxy Tempe, located in a student town in the outskirts of Phoenix, was fully expected. The property has a music space, a fitness room, as well as a swimming pool piscine. Regarding the American market alone, fifteen or so of the brand's properties are currently in the planning stages in several major cities, particularly in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and in the US capital Washington DC.
Revealed in 2013, the brand Moxy currently has two operational properties in Europe, in Milan and Munich. Other openings in Europe are expected in the years to come in Aberdeen, Berlin, Bristol, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Oslo, Stuttgart, Venice, and Vienna. The brand also plans to operate its first address in Asia Pacific by 2017: its first destination should be Bandung, on the Indonesian Island of Java. Marriott International has indicated its goal to reach 150 operational Moxy hotels in the next ten years.
Making young generations it score target the, Moxy is the most recent brand launched by Marriott International, which should complete the acquisition of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts group in the months to come. Respectively 3rd and 7th in the global ranking of hotel groups in terms of number of rooms realized by MKG Consulting prior to the merger, they will constitute the biggest player in the world with close to one million rooms, of which close to 800,000 are on the upscale segment alone .
