The hotel will be part of a new master-planned seaside community along the beaches of the Riviera Nayarit, one of Mexico's most popular tourist destinations.
Slated to open in late 2018, the hotel will join its sister property, 401-room Fairmont Mayakoba located south of Cancún on the shores of the Yucatán Peninsula. After its acquisition by AccorHotels, which should be complete in the middle of this year, FRHI will be an integral part of the sixth largest hotel operator worldwide in terms of number of rooms. According to data published by MKG Consulting, the combined group should have 554,517 rooms as of January 2016.
