Mandarin Oriental to open its first property in the Caribbean

The Hong Kong-based hotelier announces the rebranding of a luxury resort on Canouan Island, in the archipelago of St. Vincent and Grenadines. It is to operate under Mandarin brand starting November 1.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced its first property in the Caribbean, with the upcoming conversion of a luxury hotel located on Canouan Island, in the Grenadines archipelago.

The property features 26 suites and 12 villas, all of which have ocean view, with each villa also including a private swimming pool. In addition, the complex is home to several bars and restaurants, an outdoor infinity pool, as well as a spa and a fitness centre.

The hotel is to be converted and operated by the Hong Kong-based hotelier from November 1. What is more, the group also announced the development of residences located near the property, to be ready by 2020. As of January 1, 2017, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the 131st hotel group worldwide, with 27 properties and 7,226 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
