Mandarin Oriental makes its debut in Australia

The Mandarin Oriental Group pursues its development with the signing of a first property in Australia. Located in the city of Melbourne, it should open its doors by 2023.

Mandarin Oriental has just signed a management contract for a new upscale property in the city of Melbourne, Australia. Located in a 185-meter tall building on Collins Street in the city's financial district, the hotel will feature 196 spacious rooms and suites as well as 148 residences. Guests will also have access to a restaurant, a bar with a rooftop terrace, a fitness center, a spa and a swimming pool. Several meeting rooms and a club lounge will complete the offer.

The group's first property in the country, the hotel will be developed in partnership with the real estate developer Landream. James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental, declared on this occasion: “We are delighted with this opportunity to open our first hotel in Australia and look forward to bringing Mandarin Oriental’s legendary hospitality to Melbourne.” 

Founded in Asia, the group currently has a portfolio of 29 hotels and 8 residences in 19 countries and territories.
