InterContinental Hotels & Resorts prepares to sail into Venice

IHG will install its prestigious brand in a 16th century Venetian Palazzo Nani. The property should begin welcoming guests in 2018.

IHG's upscale InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is to take up residence in a sixteenth-century Venetian palace overlooking the canals. The hotel group is backed by two partners to launch its brand on this market, signing a franchise contract with the firms Cordifin Group and H.n.h Hotels & Resorts Management.

The InterContinental Venice Palazzo Nani should open its doors in 2018. First it will undergo transformation to become a 51-room hotel that will also have spaces for organizing events and meetings.

the new address mark the launch of the brand and will be the group's flagship in the Serenissima and will strengthen the group's presence in the Veneto, where it operates Holiday Inn Venice Mestre Marghera, Crowne Plaza Venice East Quarto d'Altino (both of which are on terra firma) and also the Crowne Plaza Padova.
