InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) opens a property in Mutare, Zimbabwe. It is the group's third hotel to be located in this Southern-African country.
The new property features 96 rooms, an outdoor swimming pool as well as a meeting room which can welcome up to 250 people. The hotel is owned by the investment company African Sun Limited, with which IHG is signing its third franchise.
"Africa represents huge untapped opportunities for a variety of industries across the region," stated Pascal Gauvin, COO India, Middle East and Africa, IHG. "We’re thrilled to announce the opening in Mutare as we believe that it will further support business travel between the Middle East and Africa."
As of January 1, 2017, the brand Holiday Inn / Holiday Inn Express ranked number one hotel chain worldwide, with 3,738 properties and 478,765 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
