IHG opens its first Hotel Indigo in Finland

The Hotel Indigo Helsinki is first property belonging to InterContinental Hotels Group boutique brand in Scandinavia.

Hotel Indigo, the InterContinental Hotels Group boutique brand is opening for the first time in Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

Located on Bulvardi in the design district, the property will be operated within a franchise contract signed with Restel Limited. It has 120 rooms with complimentary wifi and mini bar. The hotel also offers a gym, yoga room, sauna, steam room, and a meeting room for twelve as well as a 24-hour business center. For dining, the restaurant Bröd (seats 80) with Finnish specialities and Soup & Juice, which has an à la carte menu, offers hot soups and fresh fruit juices.

This is the seventeenth Hotel Indigo in Europe and the first in Scandinavia. Eleven others are under development on the continent. InterContinental Hotels Group was the second largest European hotel group on January 1, 2015 in terms of number of rooms with 90,160 units in 589 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis.
