Hyatt House to debut in Europe next year

The hotel group entered a franchise agreement to open the first Hyatt House-branded property in Europe, revealing growing ambitions internationally after opening a first address in China last month.

The brand's first European destination will be the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Düsseldorf. The hotel group is quite familiar with the market, as it currently operates the Hyatt Regency Düsseldorf. This 102-room property with fully-equipped kitchens is slated to open in early 2017 through a franchise agreement with InTown Hospitality GmbH. It will be part of Andreas Quartier, a mixed-used development near the Rhine River and Königsallee, the city's most prestigious street.

Hyatt House operates more than 70 properties globally, most of them located in the American market - except for the address Hyatt House Shenzhen Airport that recently debuted north of Hong Kong. The new opening will boost the group's presence in Germany, as there are currently five Hyatt-branded hotels operating across the country (Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and Mainz). According to data published by Hospitality ON, Hyatt Hotels Corporation ranked in the Top 15 of hotel groups in terms of rooms as of January 2016, with 640 hotels representing a total of 179,217 rooms.
