A Hyatt Centric resort to open soon in th French Alps

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has just announced the development of its first resort in the French Alps under the Hyatt Centric brand. Its opening is scheduled for 2018.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has just signed a franchise agreement for the Hyatt Centric La Rosière, the group's first resort in the French Alps. The Swiss group Sophos Hotels, which already operates eight properties on the European continent, will manage the property. Located at the center of the Franco-Italian resort La Rosière and near ski lifts, the address will offer 71 rooms, a restaurant as well as a bar with a panoramic view. The Hyatt Centric La Rosière will be a seasonal property, open from December to April and June to September.

"Hyatt Centric La Rosière is an extremely important and exciting development for the Hyatt Centric brand. The deal marks the expansion of the Hyatt Centric brand into a new continent, as well as our first ski resort in the region, which we regard as a remarkable milestone," remarked Peter Norman, Senior Vice President, Acquisition and Development Europe, Africa, Middle East and South-West Asia for Hyatt.

Hyatt Centric corresponds to the group's lifestyle brand that targets generation Y and business and leisure travelers. Thirteen Hyatt Centric properties are operational while others are under development in Barbados and Japan. As of January 1, 2016, Hyatt Hotels Corporation ranked 12the hotel operator worldwide in terms of number of rooms, with 605 properties for a total of 161,737 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
