Hilton strengthens its presence in Saudi Arabia

The Hilton Worldwide Group has announced the opening of a hotel under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand in Saudi Arabia. This new property is the 12th operated by the group in the country.

The Hilton Group is expanding its portfolio in the Middle East with the opening of a hotel in the city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia. Hilton Makkah Convention Hotel is located in the city center near the Grand Mosque and offers 764 rooms. The property also includes a large convention center, eight additional meeting rooms, a large ballroom, three restaurants and a fitness center.

The hotel group, which is signing its twelfth opening in Saudi Arabia, has more than 30 hotels under development in the country. As of January 1, 2016, Hilton Worldwide is the second largest operator in the world with 4,565 properties and 751,350 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
