Deutsche Hospitality strengthens its presence in Egypt

The German hotel group (former Steigenberger Hotel Group) grows its portfolio in Egypt through the conversion of a hotel previously operated by TUI.

The former upscale hotel Coraya Beach, in Marsa Alam, formerly operated under the Iberotel brand of the Anglo-German group TUI, joins the portfolio of Deutsche Hospitality. the hotel is operated under a franchise agreement with Egyptian Sun Oasis. This property is on the shores of the Red Sea, in the south of the country. It offers 354 rooms and suites, a restaurant and two bars. It also has a private beach, a spa, three swimming pools and a theater.

Deutsche Hospitality currently has 8 properties under development and/or operating in Egypt under the Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts brand. In Cairo, the hotel Steigenberger El Tahrir (295 rooms) should open next December. The groupe operates three hotel brands: Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts, Jaz in the City and Intercity Hotel. This operator has 116 properties, 20 of which are under development in Europe, Asia, Near and Middle East. On January 1, 2016, Deutsche Hospitality ranked 57th in the global ranking in the global ranking of hotel groups, for a total of 18,276 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
